In 2013, NeoOffice moved to a commercial distribution model via the Mac App Store. NeoOffice 2017 and later versions are fully based on LibreOffice. Many of these releases were preceded by a version that only Early Access Members could download these versions were released about a month before the official release date.Īll versions from NeoOffice 3.1.1 to NeoOffice 2015 were based on 3.1.1, though latter versions included stability fixes from LibreOffice and Apache OpenOffice. The "/J" suffix was dropped with version 1.2, since there was no longer another variety of NeoOffice from which to distinguish it. But NeoOffice/C proved very difficult to implement and the application was highly unstable, so the project was set aside in favor of the more promising NeoOffice/J. A related project was NeoOffice/C, which was a simultaneous effort to develop a version using Apple's Cocoa APIs. ![]() The project now called NeoOffice was originally dubbed "NeoOffice/J", reflecting its use of Mac OS X's Java integration to enable a native application. NeoOffice began as a project to investigate methods of creating a native port of to Mac OS X. Subsequently, both LibreOffice and Apache OpenOffice followed NeoOffice's lead and implemented similarly native Mac OS X interfaces. NeoOffice was the first fork to offer a native Mac OS X experience, with easier installation, better integration into the Mac OS X interface (pull-down menus at the top of the screen and familiar keyboard shortcuts, for example), use of Mac OS X's fonts and printing services without additional configuration, and integration with the Mac OS X clipboard and drag-and-drop functions. Versions of for Mac prior to 3.0 did not have a native Mac OS X interface they required that either X11.app or XDarwin be installed. Current versions are based on LibreOffice 4.4, which was released mid-2014. It is a commercial fork of the free and open source LibreOffice office suite, including a word processor, spreadsheet, presentation program and graphics program, it adds some features not present in the macOS versions of LibreOffice and Apache OpenOffice. ![]() This page will be updated as long as I have word processors to test.NeoOffice is an office suite for the macOS operating system developed by Planamesa Inc.

When it comes to most real-world-based racers the offering is fairly consistent year on year, but also across franchises. Firstly, is WRC 8 finally a DiRT killer, but perhaps more importantly, does it need to be? So there are really just two questions that we need to get to the bottom of. So it therefore makes sense for the team at Big Ben to put themselves on the line and ask whether their latest offering in WRC’s almost 20-year history has finally come out on-top as the definitive rally title for the current generation. Whilst realism hasn’t typically been a focus of the developers, there’s no denying they’ve often nailed the overall package in the genre. It asked, quite simply, “Could WRC dethrone DiRT this year?”Įver since my first venture into the rally discipline with Colin McRae DiRT over a decade ago, Codemasters has been one of the leaders in the racing scene - often setting the bar in terms of gameplay and visuals. Overall though it is still brilliant rally game, however the sense of disappointment about not going out with a bang does play on my mind. There was one question that stood out in the first email I received about WRC 8 prior to its release. I feel that there isn’t much to sell this game on except the new Rally1 cars and that is where it will bring in the WRC fans from. If you are just a casual gaming fan and you have WRC 10, I would say that there isn’t really that much of a case for buying the new one over keeping with the old game. If you were to ask me if I would recommend this game, I would say yes but with an (*). I have been playing this on xbox as well as doing the same with past games, and my feeling is that the game gets abandoned within 2-3 months of release and the teams and leagues area will get left behind despite being something with potential, especially with Leagues mode. My other concern is with the new multiplayer modes. The graphics of the game are given a slight boost but still aren’t on DiRT 2.0s level. Night time always provides a danger, happily the pace notes are implemented well All the other stages you should be familiar with though if you have played a WRC title in the past 2-3 years. The new Sweden tests are lot more fun, and Kylotonn have brought back some old stages and rallies from their past games! Unfortunately, some of those returning, such as Corsica, only come with two stages but it is a nice bonus to have. The stages are where the game does shine though. The sound gets better with some other machines however, you should be able to hear the brute force with each gearshift and it can be disappointing. The Junior WRC car feels very weak and just a dull tone. The sound also doesn’t help, the noise from the cars are serviceable at best. The Junior WRC cars feel like they wouldn’t be able to pass a lorry down the M25, compared to WRC 10 where you had a sense of speed via getting into a rhythm. There are some aspects however that can really draw you out of the experience. The cars feel heavier due to the added hybrid systems in Rally1, the asphalt physics is one of the best in any rally game too as you get a sense of grip rather feel floaty. On the driving side it is once again a mixed bag. A new Rally Sweden environment also makes its debut as well as a livery sharing function, and leagues and teams multiplayer modes.Īpart from the new hybrid section, returnees will be familiar with the R&D tree New Rally1 regulation cars are implemented along with cars from WRC2 and Junior WRC as well as 37 legendary machines. The title includes 750km of stages adding up to 165 timed routes. Let’s start with the features of the game. With this game, there was an opportunity to really knock it out the park, however what you are actually left with is more of the same. ![]() Kylotonn have been making the official WRC game since 2015 with WRC 5 and every year since, they have continually made improvements to the point where in my opinion, WRC 10 stood toe-to-toe with the best rally sims out there such as DiRT Rally 2.0. ![]() On the 3 rd November, Kylotonn games released their final WRC game before the license transfers over to Codemasters next year. ![]() The World Rally Championship season maybe experiencing the final round of the championship this weekend (10 th November), but you can start your season right now with the release of WRC Generations. The Prince without Yukitaka is enjoyable but quickly falls from charming to cruel and unwieldy. During the majority of the series the Prince is able to run amok without an equal to counter his confidence and lack of empathy, Yukitaka is a balancing element that keeps the Prince in check. ![]() The show is best when the pair is together and able to play off each other. While the Prince has a talent for tormenting characters and tossing them into hilariously dangerous situations the real chemistry of the series comes between Yukitaka and the Prince. At times it tells a serious story about intergalactic politics and at others the Prince amuses himself by tormenting some elementary school kids. There is no recognizable formula behind the series, it simply flows and does what it wants to narratively at any given time. The supporting characters range from the bland and flat such as the love struct character who falls for an alien Queen to the complex and interesting like Yukitaka’s girlfriend who shows an amazing amount of resourcefulness during the various crisis’ the Prince puts them through. Yukitaka, the high school baseball star, plays a straight man a slapstick partner and the target of one of the Princes pranks all in one. Most of the characters, especially Kraft the Prince’s bodyguard, are forced to play a straight man to the Prince’s insane antics, but roles aren’t fixed. The characters of Level E are all well done but limited by the fact that this is a comedy. Expectations are toyed with for humor and when the show succeeds in fooling you it’s a hilarious and memorable experience that can never be replicated in repeated viewings. The goal of the show seems to keep one step ahead by using unreliable and deceptive characters who run circles around each and the audience. The original manga was only sixteen captures collected in three volumes, so I can only assume that the anime covers the original material plus some. Level E has no central narrative but is a collection of short stories that use the same characters. ![]() He seeks shelter at the apartment of a high school baseball star. ![]() The Prince of Dogra crash lands on Earth and ends up with Amnesia. Powerful planets that would otherwise be at war have a mutual understanding to keep the peace while on Earth. Level E takes place on earth where thousands of aliens come and go as they please. This quirk visually sets the show apart and the style of humor goes above and beyond what we’re used to in anime comedy. Level E is a welcome throw back to the art style of 90s anime, not surprising considering the manga the show is based on were written in the 90s, but it is refreshing to see Pierrot decided to completely jump into the show and give it a look that matches Yoshihiro Togashi’s art, as opposed to updating it. “The screen’s ability to revolve creates incredible impact, and it’s already become a focal point through which we can drive conversations with fans ―so much so that they’ve already given the screen its own name created a song, and set up two Twitter accounts dedicated to it.” “The new screen adds huge value to the matchday experience and the positive response from fans is testament to that,” says Ed Guichard, Norwich City’s Head of Marketing. It’s so popular that fans even gave it a name, “Screeny McScreenface”, in reference to the 2016 internet naming contest for a new scientific research submarine that resulted in “Boaty McBoatface” During key moments, such as goal replays, the display can be turned quickly from side-to-side to face any seating section, allowing every spectator to see it. ![]() Ahead of kick-off, the screen rotates to traditional landscape orientation, allowing fans to follow the match and view replays throughout the game. The challenges in combat are exaserbated by the pain of the RNG in OP. Although I agree that BL2 needed something to make it more challenging, I'm not on board with it being such a dramatic shift from the tempo of the earlier game. ![]() In OP, you have to use a fairly limited pool of gear in order to survive. Before the OP levels, you can still pick up a gun and run with it. This is a far cry from the on-the-run improvisation of the earlier game. In my experience about half of the time spent moving up through the OP levels is spent repeatedly restarting the game and killing the same boss 15-20 times. In order to beat the Peak and keep going to higher levels, you will likely end up grinding the same enemies dozens and dozens of times in order to get the gear you need. 98% of the loot in the game (including nearly every Class Mod you find) becomes immediately useless and most people have to resort to using game-breaking techniques and exploitave strategies in order to win. I'm not sure how I would have made BL2 harder myself, but this doesn't feel right. Despite the developer claims about mixing things up during a run, the selection of enemies and the way you engage them is fairly routine.ĥ. I'm ALL for a challenge but the Peak gets boring after a while. There's not much to offer in the way of a story (one of the main strenghths of the base game) and you have to repeatedly fight the same enemies in the same arenas using, in all likelihood, the same guns you used in the previous run. The Peak is, to be succinct, an aggravating experience. For all intents and purposes this part of the DLC is non-functional.Ĥ. If they're anything like the UVHMI Pearls they wouldn't be worth mentioning. There's no reason for those, hell, ANY of the pearls to be that rare. I can understand making an item rare, but making it nearly unobtainable is just mean. They supposedly drop from Tubbies (as with the new Class Mods) but after 65+ hours of Tubby hunting I have yet to see ONE. I see no reason why they shouldn't have done so.Īs for the new Pearls, I can't even comment on them because I've never found them. My appraisal of this DLC would be much sunnier if GB had included a Legendary Variant of every class mod. As a result there's only a small handful of viable upgrade paths to get you through the Peak since you're gonna need the extra skills from the Legendary Class Mods to get anywhere. A number of character playstyles get cut off in UVHMII because GB didn't support 'em. The new set of Legendary Class Mods are great, but they didn't create Legendary versions of more than half of the mods in the game. Largely an afterthought to me but perhaps of interest to other players.ģ. You can already Upgrade your character to get two capstone Skills in UVHMI and the enemies don't change in UVHMII. It nearly cost me my love of this game and it's raised my blood pressure to presumably dangerous levels.ġ. I've tried to do the Peak solo but it's honestly one of the worst things I've done in my life. I've spent hundreds of hours beyond Lv61, and believe me, it pains me to downvote ANY part of the Borderlands series. I'm not going to try and dissuade you because of the money, but because of what UVHMII may do to your BL2 experience. If you were considering buying this DLC, please read this review. Don't buy it with the game unless you know you will get a lot of mileage out of it in the long term. Not sure about you, but I don't like being duped when it comes to content.īuy it if you love the game to bits and have the time to sink into capping out several characters. It's not even the first time they've sold us huge but incomplete DLC bundles for this title, take a gander at the so called season pass if you will. I know I won't be buying a single skin or headhunter pack and neither should you, it supports this kind of godawful marketing strategy and will doublessly spawn even more games that try to imitate it (see also the Call of Duty franchise). *shudders* skin packs I guess) into a bundle with a decent price drop. 2K should put this pack and the headhunters (and the. Will cost you more money, even if you own the GotY edition that should have included this in the first place +Provides more challenge as the enemies will still scale to your level + Adds one of the most fun raids in the entire game + Extends playtime and enhances replay value It's more levels which means it's mandatory when playing public games as playing a 61 with a bunch of 72's is not fun. This pack is very much essential for the complete Borderlands 2 experience which is why I recommend it, however I still resent the fact that 2K did NOT include it in the GotY edition. For a reboot they could take two alternatives: Either embrace the ridiculousness of the show and not explain anything but do cool shit, but there’s also room in there for them to make up completely new stuff and give explanations to make it a better adaptation. View it as a yeah it’s cool we have sharks with big mouths, don’t question anything, but at the same time it doesn’t use the rule of cool too much to make up for it. It’s a strength and a weakness, you have here. Yeah the designs of the toys are cool but In the actual cartoon nothing makes sense, they didn’t care to explain why anything was happening and just put as much cool sounding ideas whether it was well written or not. I guess for a reboot of street sharks they would just need to completely reinvent most of the ideas since there’s not much in here to work with. ![]() I mean I’d love to see something new with them and thought they were great as a kid. They reek of the 90s so much that to possibly be done again it’d be tough, even Biker Mice from Mars couldn’t catch a break in their revival and they were less bound by that decade. And I’m not trying to be mean, I think the concept is cool and heck it created a spin-off with Extreme Dinosaurs. Hence why the aniamted show is mostly forgotten yet people have fond memories of the toys and characters despite that they can’t mention any one reason why the franchise deserves a revival. Eventually it did get a not as successful cartoon that not many people watched. That gave the Street Sharks a few years in toy shelves being relatively successful. ![]() They were intentionally made bigger so they would stand out among your Ninja Turtles. Let’s be honest, the only reason street shark was ever a thing was because the toys were so awesome and unlike anything else out there, even the packaging felt fresh. |
